The Good Law

The last shop on his way was the only hope he had for finding proper new shoes. Picky lad. Those who tend to walk a lot have the right to be so. When he finally found suitable shoes, he went to the cashier. She was a young girl, probably even younger than him. It was evident that the cashier was not in a good mood, although she tried to keep her temper in order. There was a line of people waiting, which was not typical for this type of shop. It took her time to do her work. She was obviously overwhelmed. A colleague of hers offered to help, but the girl gasped and rejected the offer in a rather rude way. It was finally the boy's turn. He just smiled, hoping to show that he wasn't affected by the long wait. But that didn't help at all, as the girl had a tired and worried look. He grabbed the change and left.

As he was walking home, he wondered what could have made the girl feel so bad. Also, she didn't want any help, despite obviously needing it.

" She must be really tough on herself"- thought the boy with compassion, as his eyes were wandering around the scenery around him. His hands were in the pocket of his jacket, so he could feel the coins from the change he took. An idea came to mind. He smiled, took out one of the coins and threw it on the ground, almost saying out loud:

" Beloved God, I am willingly throwing away this coin, in hope that you can help the girl find a reason to smile and maybe show her how to treat herself better and accept help when needed, because she is a wonderful soul that deserves to be happy, like everyone else!"

Then he imagined going to the same shop after some time, finding her in a much better mental condition! That made him feel really inspired!

Another characteristic of people who walk a lot is the fact that they get to see many different people- not a small proportion of them experiencing some hardship. The moment he saw such a person, he would distance himself from them and toss a coin, sending a prayer to God. If it was a beggar, he would directly give money to him and smile.

Almost a month passed. Everything was the same as ever. He was walking towards his house in a rather good spirit, but as he got closer, a cloud of fear and worry rose above him. In front of the door, he stood, gathering the willpower to get inside and keep his inspired look. Moments after he went in, his mother rushed to him, almost yelling with joy.

- We got a call from the hospital! They found a kidney donor for your brother!

Happiness, relief and gratitude were the dominant emotions the family felt. Time passed, and his brother fully recovered from the operation. Just then the boy wondered how this miracle happened- they waited for so long as if all hope was lost. But he didn't know that every person who found his tossed coins on the ground wished for lots of joy and blessings for the one who previously owned the coins.

Doing good is like entering a new, magical world- it only looks like the one you are living in, but it has different laws...Good laws. Next time when you find money/coins on the ground, why not send a blessing to the one who dropped them- it may be the thing they need at the moment and it doesn't cost anything!

This is a second short story that is inspired by my imagination and from what I observe in my everyday life! I hope you can feel the magic in it! Stay blessed, inspired and healthy!
