Ask me a question...

I remember one of the interviews I had to undergo for a specific institution. They had to see what kind of a person I am and the depth of my knowledge in a certain field. I still remember the pressure I felt and the speed at which I answered their questions. I congratulate myself on being able to pass, however, the way I accepted the questions was not what they deserved.

I see that people either do not like questions, or they overlook them for the sake of the answer. That is how sometimes we give inadequate answers to a question we barely heard (what is left to understand...) And because questions are often connected with exams or others evaluating our personality, we dislike hearing them. However, when we have questions, the level of impatience can hit the rooftop and reach the height of Burj Khalifa.

I understand the reason behind this perplexed relationship we may have with the questions. But then imagine the "what if's..." that have left you speechless and provoked an "Eureka!" moment. I think that the questions contain an abundance of wisdom, thus sometimes the awaited answer could take its time. Instead of firing quick answers, I prefer taking my time in order to truly comprehend the question I have been gifted.

No wonder one quality of good listeners is actually listening to the person in order to understand them, and not because of the "need" to answer. Listen to the question well, give it some time, appreciate its wisdom, and if you want to answer it, do it eventually! They are a true blessing!
